Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS Review
Amazing, But Lacking at the Same Time
Gameplay: Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS is great when it comes to portable brawlers. It takes Nintendo All-Stars and a unique fighting style, and puts it all in one epic package. The Smash Bros. series is unique because instead of health bars, there is a percentage. The goal is to knock the opponent off of the stage. The higher the percentage, the farther they fly. Not only is this fighting style fun and unique, but it is also very charming. With new characters such as the boxer, Little Mac, Animal Crossing's Villager, and even the legendary Pac-Man, they bring unique play styles to the Smash Bros. Formula.
Content: There is so much content in this game that it has to restart the system after you're done playing it. The extra modes range from the good ol' Classic Mode, to the new "Target Blast." There is plenty of Single-Player Content for those who are unfortunately not around friends who have the game. There are over 600 trophies and 400 custom moves which gives the game a lot of replay value. There are over 100 challenges to conquer too to keep you busy.
Cons: Every great game does come with consequences and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS is no exception. Online Multi-player lags a lot and has freezes and input lag. Heck, even Local Multi-player has lag at some points. Fortunately those are my only problems with this version of Smash Bros.
Verdict: Overall, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS is a welcome addition to the series with its portability, huge roster of characters, and it's packed full of content. Even though Multi-Player is laggy at some points, everything else pulls through. This is truly the ideal game for the Nintendo 3DS. I am giving this game a 9 out of 10. I hope whoever reads this and is planning to get the game found this review helpful :)
